Services

Information and Assistance – BCOA provides individuals with correct information, and services available to them with in their communities.

Congregate Meals – A nutritious meal served at one of the two sites:

  • 706 Bearkat Dr.
    Bossier City, LA 71111
  • East Oak St.
    Plain Dealing, LA

Home Delivered Means – A nutritious meal delivered to your home Monday thru Friday for seniors unable to do one or more of the activities of daily living. Donation: $1.50

Homemaker – A trained BCOA employee will come out and perform light housekeeping for seniors unable to do one or more of the activities of daily living. Donation: $3.00 per visit.

Transportation – Door to door service to doctor appointments, clinics, stores and pharmacy. Seniors must give at least 2 weeks notice. Donation: $3.00 per round trip within Bossier City, $4.00 round trip Bossier Parish.

Utility Assistance – Determining an older individual’s need for utility assistance and providing financial assistance, when funding is available.

Wellness - Activities designed to provide service which will support and /or improve the older person’s mental and/or physical well-being exercise, physical fitness, and health screenings.

Recreation – Providing individual and group activities that promote social interaction and well-being.

Legal Assistance – Legal advice and representation are available to seniors for certain types of legal matters including government program benefits, tenant rights, and consumer problems.

National Family Support Caregiver Program

Information and Assistance – BCOA provides individuals with correct information, and services available to them with in their communities.

In-Home Respite – Respite is relief or rest for a specified period of time, from the constant, continued supervision companionship and/or personal care of a person with a functional impairment. Donation: $3.00

Sitter Service – A service provided in a home setting to ensure the health and safety of the qualifying individual. It includes observing, conversing, and providing food for the individual. Donation $3.00

Material Aid – Loaning assistive devices and goods such as wheel chairs, walkers, fans, and personal hygiene. Donations: $3.00

Public Education: Public education consists of basic, remedial or continuing education services to assist individuals with knowledge about available services.
