February is a time for connection, compassion, and caring for one another, values at the heart of everything we do at Bossier Council on Aging. As a trusted nonprofit serving seniors across Bossier Parish since 1975, our mission is to help older adults remain active, independent, and connected to the community they love.
Helping Seniors Stay Nourished With Home-Delivered Meals
For many older adults, especially those living alone or with limited mobility, preparing healthy meals can be challenging. Our home-delivered meals program ensures seniors across Bossier City, Benton, and Haughton receive nutritious food right to their door. This February, we’re continuing our commitment to reducing food insecurity while providing essential safety checks for some of our most vulnerable neighbors.
Warm Community Connections Through Congregate Dining
Isolation can take a toll on seniors’ health and happiness. Our congregate dining locations, including the Bearkat Center in Bossier City, offer delicious meals, fellowship, and fun activities such as bingo, crafts, and wellness education. February is a wonderful time to join us for a meal and meet new friends!
Reliable Senior Transportation Throughout Bossier Parish
Whether it's traveling to medical appointments, grocery shopping, or running essential errands, transportation is a major challenge for many older adults. Our senior transportation services are here to help. We proudly assist seniors in Bossier Parish with safe, dependable rides that support health, independence, and peace of mind.
Caregiver Respite & Homemaker Services for Families
Family caregivers provide so much love and support, and they deserve support too. Through our National Family Caregiver Support Program, we offer respite services that allow caregivers to rest and recharge. Our homemaker services also play a vital role by helping seniors with light cleaning, household tasks, and making daily life easier and safer at home.
Educational, Recreational & Wellness Programs
From line dancing and arts and crafts to legal assistance, nutrition classes, and support groups, Bossier Council on Aging provides a wide range of programs designed to enrich the lives of older adults. February brings new opportunities for fun, learning, and staying active.
